THE BREAD BASKET
Every Wednesday at noon
a free lunch is served in Abba Java House (entrance on Locust Lane
at Calder Way). All are welcome to this outreach of Vision
Centre Region, an ecumenical organization in our community.
Guests at Bread Basket with meet folks from all walks of life:
senior citizens, college students, downtown workers. You are
invited to enjoy this gift of community fellowship and/or to serve
as a volunteer in the Bread Basket kitchen.
ST. PAUL'S CORPS
(Christian Organization for Repair Projects and Service) Persons
interested in assisting with home repair services to those in need
are invited to learn about CORPS. We always have new projects and
hope to assign volunteers for these upcoming projects.
SONRISE BAKERY
Four times a year, the SonRise Bakery supports outreach projects
by selling homemade goodies before and after Sunday services.
February features a baked goods sale in support of the Boy Scouts.
Mother's Day is marked by a quiche sale. In the fall,
apple dumplings can be ordered to support missions, and December's
offering at SonRise Bakery is, of course, cookies! Call Jill Lillie

Bakery.
SHOE BANK
Every Saturday morning,
folks from St. Paul's open the Shoe Bank to persons in need from
throughout the community. Volunteers are always needed to
assist those who come and to help with organizational jobs in the
Shoe Bank.
FOOD BANK
On the first Sunday of
every month, non-perishable food items may be brought to St. Paul's
for those in need. Donations are taken to the State College
Food Bank. |
ST. PAUL'S
HABITAT HOUSE

View the progress on the Philipsburg
Habitat for Humanity House Project.
Work has begun on the
building of house through Habitat
for Humanity in Phillipsburg. Workers travel from State College
every Friday and Saturday to work on the house. Volunteers will
be needed at all stages of the process: publicity, volunteer-recruitment,
getting to know the family that will live in the new house, and
folks with home-building skills.
The chairperson of the

CENTRE
VOLUNTEERS IN MEDICINE
CVIM provides free health and dental care to uninsured residents
of Centre County. CVIM depends upon volunteers to staff the office,
interview patients, assist with fundraising. Local doctors,
dentists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals volunteer their
services in this community outreach.
PARK FOREST DAY
NURSERY
PFDN provdes free preschool
for children from low-income families who are not affiliated with
PennState or not serviced by Headstart. Funded by congregations,
civic organizations, and individuals, sessions are held weekday
mornings --3 months in the spring and 3 months in thefall. Two meals
are provided daily along with health screening,parent education
classes & G.E.D. diploma classes. Serves children ages 2 -5
years old. To enroll a child, contact Gloria Horst Rosenberger,
director at 814-234-2167.
Volunteers are needed to drive children
to and from the Day Nursery. Contact the St.
Paul's office to volunteer.
CROP
WALK FOR THE HUNGRY
State College area churches join in the annual CROP Walk on the
fourth Sunday of October. Monies raised by the CROP Walk are
shared between international hunger relief efforts and local efforts
to alleviate hunger.
ABBA JAVA HOUSE
Abba Java provides study
space and free coffee and snacks for college students throughout
the week. Volunteers are always needed to keep the coffee
fresh and help to provide a friendly, caring atmosphere for students.
